Who is Muhammad Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam?

Mawlana Shaykh Hisham Kabbani | Saturday, Mar 08, 2008 | London UK

Minhaj ul-Quran, London

Moderator: The Holy Prophet commanded the Ansaari, “Qoomoo li-sayyidikum - O people of Ansaari go and stand up and receive your leader.”

Now I am going to call on the Sign of Allah ayatun min ayatollah he is a sing of Allah. He is a symbol of Allah. And it is said in hadith when you see the friends of Allah you remember? [Allah!], you remember? [Allah] Please stand up of respect of shaykh and remember him in remembrance of Allah. Allah, Allah...

[Allah, Allah….]

Naray takbir [Allahu Akbar!!!]

Naray Risalah [Ya Rasulullah!!!]

Naray Haydari [Ya Ali!!!]

I am sorry, I am not that person. Please forgive me and please pray our shuyukh for Allah to give them long life. I like to thank Minhaj ul-Quran and especially send my best regards on my behalf and on behalf of my shaykh Mawlana Shaykh Nazim al-Haqqani to Mawlana Shaykh Tahir ul-Qadri Shaykh al-Islam for this beautiful event not only here but everywhere around the world. And I would also like to mention that we have very important guests in the meeting, that we send all our best and regards to them from the speakers and from the audience. And everyone, may Allah bless him and bless her and bless her and her family.

It is enough to say “be happy.” [Mawlana is crying] Be happy that Allah made us from the nation of Sayyidina Muhammad Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam. Be happy that Allah has created us and He called us His servants, where His messenger, His beloved one said, “the only time that I am happy is when Allah called me ‘My servant.’ If Sayyidina Muhammad Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam is happy to be called

‘servant’ what about us? O Allah, we call You from this place, for the sake of Sayyidina Muhammad whom you sent rahmatan lil-`alameen, forgive us. Forgive the poor ones before us and after. Send everyone to Paradise because they are all Your servants.

You created us and we know O Allah, I know we are responsible for our mistakes but we helpless and weakless servants, we cannot do that. …we ask Your forgiveness.

Alhamdulillah it is the first day of Rabi`ul-Awwal and we are celebrating that event. What is the meaning of that event? I am looking and thinking and wondering why are we meeting? What is the reason? Is it to call on Sayyidina Muhammad sall-Allahu `alayhi wa sallam and celebrate his birthday? Is that our message or is that our love? As Shaykh Abu Bakr just said, "It is easy to say it by tongue." It is easy to say that Allah put his name with the name of Sayyidina Muhammad Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam.

When you go to an event, say in the palace, you are invited to the palace or you are invited to meet a president. You cannot sit anywhere. There is a protocol you have a set and your name there. If your name is not there you have no right to sit. It means that chair doesn’t belong to you. If your name is there that means this is where you sit.

So if we think a little bit deep and we see that the name of Sayyidina Muhammad Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam is besides the name of Allah swt, where he says la ilaha ila-Allah Muhammadun Rasulullah, that place belongs to Sayyidina Muhammad. We didn’t see any other name found there except the name of Sayyidina Muhammad Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam. So we know that Allah swt is giving that reality to His beloved one whom He created before creation. Whom He created from His light and whom He made him a prophet before Adam and gave him what? Called him in Holy Qur’an what? And all of us we know that. He called him rahmatan lil-`alameen. What is the meaning of rahmatan lil-`alameen?

When you go to generous person: a lord or congressman or a king, or a queen, when you ask them something they are generous they give you everything they can. So generosity, Allah Huwa al-Kareem, generosity is when Allah wants to give He will not give in limits. When He gave Sayyidina Muhammad to be rahmat, one of His Beautiful Names ar-Rahman ar-Raheem, He dressed him from that mercy that Allah gave to him thru the manifestation to him as His servant. He made him rahmat, that Beautiful Names, gave him rahmat. That means He made him everything possible according to Allah's swt Greatness. Not according to human greatness. A king might give, a queen might give; a lord might give; they give according to the level of their generosity. But they don’t give what Allah gives.

So Allah gave to Sayyidina Muhammad Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam according to His level of generosity. Without restriction. And that means that whatever the Prophet Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam asks he will get. And the Prophet Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam said, “I am the master of the children of Adam and I say it with no pride.” What doe he means to say? It means, “O Allah give them to me...” Do you think if the Prophet Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam says in Day of Judgment "give them to me?" What? Allah will say to him “no”? Why then is he rahmatan lil-`alameen. Will He not give him what he asks? Then if not He isn’t giving with full generosity.

That chair belongs to the Prophet Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam. And every chair in Paradise belongs to the Prophet.

When Adam made the sin and he ate from the tree and then he asked forgiveness for the sake of Sayyidina Muhammad Allah asked him, "what do you know about Muhammad?” He said, “O Allah wherever I turn my face, even in the whole Paradise that you gave to me, I am seeing the name of Muhammad on every leaf of a tree; I am seeing on every wall of paradise the name Muhammad; I am seeing in every smallest atom that is possible I am seeing the name of Muhammad. That name is written on the walls, on every leaf of every tree, on every atom even. For that reason I know Ya Rabbee he is someone of importance to You; not for us.” Allah said, "O Adam, if not for Muhammad I would not have created creation. I gave that creation to Muhammad; he is My messenger to them.”

What does that mean? This universe we are living in; that great universe that we are living in. [It means:] “O Adam, I created creation for him.”

Allah said and I mentioned that before that wa in min shayin illa yusabihoo bi-hamdihi wa lakin... Every atom is praising Allah in a different way, not in the same way, every atom that Allah created, every creation that Allah created living and non-living, every cell in a human being there are three trillion cells in the human body, they regenerate completely every six months. Every cell is saying tasbih. Every non-living thing, every drop of water, is praising Allah… We are not understanding them. Who is understanding their praise?

The one who heard them when he was walking by Jabal Uhud, when the trees and the pebbles were praising Allah and everything was praising Sayyidina Muhammad. Allah ordered: inna Allah wa mala’ikatahu yusalloon `ala an-Nabi Ya ayyuhalladheena aamanoo salloo `alayhi wa sallimoo tasleema.

Allah ordered every angel to praise Sayyidina Muhammad Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam. Allah swt ordered every human being to praise the Prophet Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam. Allah.

So this universe live in is it big or small. Scientists say there are six billion galaxies and in every galaxy is 80 billion stars. And every star is bigger than this solar system that we are living in. And every atom in every star in every galaxy is praising Sayyidina Muhammad Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam. Allah gave them to Sayyidina Muhammad Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam.

O human beings enjoy. Be happy, don’t be said, be happy. Whatever comes, comes, only be good and praise the Prophet Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam. You will be saved. You think anyone will enter fire. Allah will give him shafa`a for everyone to enter Paradise You thank Allah created creation to burn them to punish them to crush them. For what? Allah is just, Allah is merciful. When He sees His servants crying and asking for His forgiveness He will not forgiven them? I am not saying only Muslims. Anyone who wants to object, they may object! We want everyone to enter Paradise. From Adam to the Day of Judgment. That is Islam. That is the message of Islam.

I am feeling bad because we are not doing enough. We are feeling bad, Muslims around the world and non-Muslims. They feel bad why? Because there is something in us and something reminding us of our mistakes.

We feel guilty. O Muslims enjoy this life by obeying Sayyidina Muhammad Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam and all other prophets.

Before I finish I would like to say one thing. That when Adam as looked and saw all these names of Sayyidina Muhammad Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam on every leaf of a tree or every atom in of the universe in heavens he knew that this belongs to Sayyidina Muhammad Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam. He was crying and crying and went into sajda. And He was crying and his tears were coming like a flood and Allah left him for forty years. And Allah said to him, "O Adam it is enough, raise your head. He said, "O Allah do you forgive me?" Allah said, "O Adam, of course I forgive you, but I let you to cry for forty years. Why? Because my beloved Prophet asked Me to intercede for every human being inside you. Adam at that time and I left you to give tears on the number of the grandchildren of Adam. And until that happened I told you to raise your head."

We are ummatan marhooma. Allah has blessed us and sent His mercy on us for the sake of Sayyidina Muhammad Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam.

What is the description of tasawwuf about the Prophet Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam? We heard too much about Sufis, Sufis, Sufis and today are too many institutes around the world asking what is that Sufism.

And our shuyukh may Allah give them long life, and all our shuyukh and I cannot name all their names and all our shuyukh Shaykh Tahir ul-Qadri, they were… teaching their students tasawwuf.

That is a culture that is coming form the time of the Prophet Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam up to today. Today they opened their eyes on that because of what the others are doing today.

So they said, "there is a problem." And already shaykh Abu Bakr mentioned many about that. But I would like to mention one thing. Who is prophet? Do we know?? We know the picture of his grave. Did we see Sayyidina Muhammad? Yes or no??! [no] Why? You think he is not present here in this hall. You think if you call him “Ya Rasulullah Ya rahmatan lil-`alameen” will he not be present in this hall? The problem is we are blind, We cannot see. He is present here of course. He is here or course. He is looking at us of course. Why? Because as these great awliyaullah explained, as these Sufis teachers explained, that Sayyidina Muhammad is the mirror for creation. You cannot see yourself except thru the mirror. Sayyidina Muhammad is the mirror in the Divine Presence reflecting everything Allah created in this world in to existence. [naray takbir… naray risalah… naray…Ahmadi Mustafa marhaba, marhaba. Jaana-e Mustafa noore Mustafa…]

O Muslims, P human beings! We are the reflection from the Divine Presence thru the mirror of Muhammadun Rasulullah. We are still there. This here is our images. This isn’t our realties. The realities are still in the Divine Presence . Allah swt did not release them. He released them thru the mirror of Sayyidina Muhammad to be reflected them on earth. That is why Sayyidina Muhyideen Ibn `Arabi and many Sufi teachers, and Imam Ghazali, said, the real time when I am not blind is when I die. there I open my eyes and there I see the truth.

Muhyideen Ibn `Arabi said that the mirror that everything been reflects from the Divine Presence to existence is reflected is Muhammadun Rasulullah. If that mirror disappears you cannot see anything here, it will be a completely hidden treasure in the Divine Presence . What He wanted to appear, He made to reflect in this life thru the mirror of Muhammad. Since we are reflections in the mirror who then is responsible? The mirror or the reflection? The mirror is the one that is responsible. We are doing cracks on this mirror only.

You think Allah swt, when stones are coming on a car, you don’t see the glass break? No you see only the cracks. . It doesn’t break but it gets cracks. Sayyidina Muhammad does not accept even cracks on his mirror. That is why we are still in the divine presence pure. That is why awliyaullah say you didn’t see anything yet. What you are seeing yet is only images. Wait. Wait until you leave this dunya. We are asking, "O Allah show us his reality. Don’t leave us to akhira. In akhira everyone will see him. We want to see here. But we are asking “Ya Rasulullah, let us see you. appear to us! We are weak servants. Appear to us, appear in our hearts. You appeared to awliyaullah. Be with us in every moment of our lives.”

That is what we are asking, O Allah, for the sake of Your awliya and for Sayyidina Muhammad’s sake, let us be in the presence of Sayyidina Muhammad in every moment of our life. Let our hearts say Muhammad, Muhammad, Muhammad. May Allah forgive us.

Love from our Shaykh Muhammad Nazim al-Haqqani and greetings to all of you and to Shaykh Tahir al-Qadiri and to all those who participated in this blessed gathering.

Mawlana Shaykh Nazim's Declaration for UK, Europe and everyone

Mawlana Shaykh Nazim Adil Al-Haqqani Sultanul Awliya | Saturday, Jan 03, 2009 | Lefke CY

Es-selamu aleykum.

Nuhiy al-majlis an aqool Bismillahi-r-Rahmani-r-Raheem Tarikatuna Sohbah wal khayri fi-l-jamiyah.

Sheik Hisham Effendi [n`am Sayyidee] Khalifat mawlana tarteeb jawami' hali `ala ismuna. Jami' Peckham, wa jami' ewalu Shacklewell Lanes, ba'dayn Green Lanes ewal masjid tab'ana. Muhim hadha.

[to make our association alive I say “In the name of Allah the Beneficent the Meriful.” Our Tarikat is association and the goodness is in the gathering.

Sheik Hisham Effendi (yes Sayyidee) is calipha of Mawlana.

Arrangement of the Mosques that are under our names. Masjid Peckham, and Masjid, the first one, Shacklewell Lanes, after Green Lanes, the first mosque belonging to us. This is what is important.]

I am making you on behalf of me to look in London: Peckham Mosque and Shacklewell Lanes and Green Lanes, three of them, to look what is there our situation in front of laws. We must take them under our control because we are owners.

As I am a chief trustee and owner in Peckham and Shacklewell Lanes and in Green Lanes dergah I am giving to you my authority also what is the difficulties there to arrange to make these three places for Islamic foundations to make for Islam - not for some groups but must be for everyone. And I like that you can try to call British Muslims to use these three mosques also under our trust how they may do, if they are asking to pray Jum'ah, to make khutbe, to make zikr, under our permission they may do.

Anything they may be in need, we are supporting them also. Because we are not buying these three big places for dunya. No, never. But we tried to reach some big centers in London, therefore I tried so many years, perhaps thirty years I was there, and the Lord of Heavens making me successful to make so many mosques.

St. Anne's is now under our control, fully, but these three ones that no trust working on it or chief trustee, we must look, we must arrange how we may use for the sake of Allah and Rasuluhu Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam and making to change how many trustees there, as I like to be a trustworthy person and a mukhlis, sincere one, and young ones, to be, to take care through these three places. If anyone getting against my declaration, then it is not going to be good for them. If coming some heavenly punishment I don't know.

My maqsad, my intention, to work as I like, that I was intending. I would never intend to buy something and to take some benefit on behalf of mosques, estaghfirullah. I am, I have enough, Allah Almighty giving to me, in our country, enough.

After this age I am not asking dunya, I am ashaming. But I am asking that these three places also to be put for the benefit of young people or calling people to come and to learn Islam. I like to take over the whole trust and bring new ones. New ones.

There should be chief trustee: Shaykh Hisham. And also to be chief trustee Shacklewell Lanes and owner and chief trust on Green Lanes dergah. What is necessary to be done on trusts through these three buildings I am making you on behalf of me, to look Shaykh Hisham.

Yanee Angleterre importance for you because I can't move from Cyprus to reach to London, like before. We have now in London, in important points of London, we have a jami` wa masjid wa dergah [Jumu`ah mosque, and mosque and Sufi center]. Wa haythu… dergah … now I am not able as before to go to London, to look after our people as well as you are also the… you have permission from our Grandshaykh calipha, yumkin tatasil bin-naas `ayesheen bi UK [you are able to connect with people living in UK], that it is easy for you to go and to look after our followers and also you may try to keep our huqooq, rights, there and to call people to Tarikat an-Naqshbandiyyati-l-`aliyye. And therefore I am, as my… as I am servant of our Grandshaykh, I am giving to you a ijazet, permission, to come to London, to England, UK and to look after our followers what they may be in need, if anything going to be difficult, you may consult with me and you should be my calipha there.

Wa idha, and therefore I like not to be our brothers and sisters without a shaykh and UK big country [and] London a biggest city on Europe without a shaykh. Therefore just I am giving you ijazet to look after people in London, in Ireland, in UK, and also you may look after people in France, and you may look also in Spain, and also in Italy, maybe time by time you may go. You can call people in Europe, to come to Naqshbandi tarikat and you may go to African continent. Because they are in need also a shaykh calling them to our tarikatun `aliyye [most distinguished Sufi way]. And you may go also to shay, Africa shimalinda [North Africa] – Morocco - wa and also inside of African continent you may do - you may have a big area and you are not a fadi, empty [one], to be only in America, no. In Africa, it is big area for you. Everywhere.

I am Shaykh Nazim the servant of our Grandshaykh. Biwasi' - advising Shaykh Hisham that he may go anywhere invited for tarikatun `aliyye [most distinguished Sufi way]. That is my ijazet, permission, as our Grandshaykh permitting me.

After my age I never reaching east and west. Only if Allah Almighty giving a permission to move without plane that is another point.

Allahuma edrikna fee yawmina jadeed an nakoona fi-l-amna wa-l-amaan was-selamat wa-l-islam. Wa-Allahu khayru-l-hafidhan wa Huwa arhamur-rahimeen. Fatiha.

[O Allah reach us in this new day to be in safety and security and good health and Islam. And the Allah is the Best of Protectors and He is the Most Merciful of those who are merciful. Fatiha]

Nuh's son

Mawlana Shaykh Hisham Kabbani | Tuesday, Feb 14, 2006 | Oakland, CA US

A`udhu billahi min ash-shaytaan ir-rajeem

Bismillahi 'r-Rahmani 'r-Raheem

Nawaytu Arbain…

Ati` Allah wa ati` ar-Rasula wa uli 'l-amri minkum

Alhamdulillah, that all of us are students and mureeds of Mawlana Shaykh Nazim. There is no one higher or lower in the eyes of the shaykh, everyone is equal. Everyone is equal in the love Shaykh has for us, but they may not be equal in knowledge. The shaykh opens to some and not to others. It depends on how much you listened and learned, or whether you have been chosen to represent the shaykh in certain areas.

Look at Sahaaba. The Prophet did not differentiate in the way he treated all of the Sahaaba, but he gave some different knowledge and ranks than what he gave others. He made some senior to others but his love was the same for all. What he gave Sayyidina Abu Bakr (r) he didn’t give Sayyidina `Umar (r) and what he gave Sayyidina `Ali (r) he didn’t give to Sayyidina `Uthman (r). He gave each one according to his capacity but all are Sahaaba.

So awliya are always looking at their exemplar, the Prophet, and that is how they behave with everyone. They love everyone the same but in certain seniority you might say, they give one to say something that they don’t give the others. What he gave me he didn’t give you and what he gave you he didn’t give me.

Although there are many things we have in common and share together, still there are things you know that I don’t and things I know that you don’t know. We don’t know the wisdom of everything because Allah is Huwa al-Mudabbir. He is the one that plans everything. From His attribute al-`Alim or al-`Aleem, the absolute knower, everything has been planned. Through that knowledge that describes His essence, the attribute of knowledge knows everything. Through that attribute, when Allah's iraada, His will, manifests, the attribute of knowledge puts forward the plan. Whatever has to appear is already there, it has already appeared in the heavenly time zone which is timeless. In the heavenly zone, the heavenly description appears and there is its image, a reflection of its reality that has appeared from Allah’s beautiful attribute al-`Aleem – the Knower. Allah wants us to know through that reflection what happened there in that heavenly zone. That is why Allah, His plan has to be executed, nothing else. Once Allah’s plan is manifest in the heavenly zone, we cannot change it. What we see is merely a reflection of what has already transpired.

Allah said to the angels “Make sajda to Adam!” Allah said He created angels and they have no sin. Paradise cannot accept sin, nor can it accept something wrong. So when Paradise cannot accept something wrong, angels should not be able to commit sins there. So when Allah said, make sajda, their duty was what? To make sajda. However, Iblees did not. Allah cursed him because through His beautiful name al-Aleem, that plan has been there that Iblees will not make sajda, and Allah would curse him for it. If Iblees would have made sajda, he would not be cursed, and Adam would not have been sent to earth.

Allah with his ilm al-mutlaq, “absolute knowledge”, ordered Iblees to do sajda, but His Will is that Iblees will not do sajda, in order for Allah to curse him.

If Allah wanted He could have taken the soul of Iblees, like he takes the soul of a human being or a jinn, and Iblees would die. Allah could have done that but he left that soul there.

Allah ordered Sayyidina Nuh Alayhissalam to make the ship on a mountain in the jungle where there was no ocean nearby. People were coming to him and saying "are you crazy, why are you doing a ship here?" But he didn’t listen because he knew he was executing Allah’s plan. If he put his iraada, his will, he knew that would change everything. That is why submission is always recommended to believers and that is why awliya always submit to Allah’s will. They don’t put their will over Allah’s Will.

There is a general will and a partial will. Allah gave that partial will to check how much we rebel. With that small will that is like an atom compared to the general will, still we are rebellious.

So what happened to Sayyidina Nuh Alayhissalam? There was a slight possibility that if Allah told him to build a ship in the jungle, then water might come there and make a flood. Although it is a rare possibility for water to come up to a mountain that is so high, Allah made that to happen. It would be a greater tsunami than the one we saw last year. Allah wants people to know, that tsunami and this is secret from the heart of Sayyidina al-Mahdi, from Mawlana. The tsunami was to give us a taste of the tsunami in the time of Sayyidina Nuh Alayhissalam. The tsunami of 2004 is like an ant compared to an elephant when you compare its strength with the one that happened in time of Sayyidina Nuh Alayhissalam. That tsunami in which a half million people died, is to show us what it is like and that if people are not going to be straightforward, a bigger one is coming. It will be a huge flood like the one that came in the time of Sayyidina Nuh Alayhissalam and will show everyone that it is not difficult for Allah to send a big tsunami, which takes everyone except the believers.

Mawlana is explaining that this recent tsunami was a living description of the flood of Sayyidina Nuh Alayhissalam, which we never gave any importance to it, making it only like a story. Awliya every moment are seeing that flood coming from Allah’s revenge on people who are deviating and going astray; on people who are harming others; on people who are giving suffering and pain to others; and, on people who are breaking the peace on earth, killing innocents. Allah showed us something that depicts a situation we never could have pictured in our mind. If you don’t live and experience a problem, you never worry about it or feel it. Sayyidina Nuh Alayhissalam felt it. Those who died in 2004 felt it, but no one else felt it except those people.

As the Prophet (s) said in the Last Days, there will be too many earthquakes on earth. Look what happened in the subcontinent, millions and million are now suffering without shelter from that earthquake. We brought that example to show the difference between the obedience of Sayyidina Nuh (s) and Iblees who disobeyed.

Allah ordered Sayyidina Nuh Alayhissalam to build the ship and to put in the ship all those who believe. And what happened?

So the Ark floated with them on the waves (towering) like mountains, and Noah called out to his son, who had separated himself (from the rest): "O my son! embark with us, and be not with the unbelievers!"

The son replied: "I will betake myself to some mountain: it will save me from the water." Noah said: "This day nothing can save, from the command of Allah, any but those on whom He hath mercy! "And the waves came between them, and the son was among those overwhelmed in the Flood. Then the word went forth: "O earth! swallow up thy water, and O sky! Withhold (thy rain)!" and the water abated, and the matter was ended. The Ark rested on Mount Judi, and the word went forth: "Away with those who do wrong!" Hud, 11:42-44

Nuh said to his son when he saw the flood coming, “come and get aboard the ship with us”, but one of children refused. He said, “No, I am going to go on a very high mountain to protect me from the water.” Nuh told him “there is no one protected from Allah’s order except those on whom He bestows mercy” Wa haala baynahum al-mawja. At that moment, he was up on the highest point of the mountain but the tsunami waves reached and swallowed him, so he was one of those who drowned.

What happened to the water? Similar to what happened recently in 2004. Gheeth al-mai. The earth came with a huge flood and suddenly it sucked all the whole water back into the ocean. Everything became normal. Those huge waves of the tsunami were coming back and forth but after some time, I don’t know how many hours or days, the earth swallowed the water back completely, and everything appeared normal as before.

Look at the Surah Sayyidina Nuh Alayhissalam and read their translation. Gheeth al-mai is “swallow the water”. That is giving us an example, be careful, that is going to come. They gave a taste of it, like a spoonful. Like a spoonful of sugar, or better we say like salt. But in the Last Days, the tsunami is not going to be just a spoonful. What they showed us was a very small jarrah, portion, but the real dose has not come yet. The real dose that is coming will be more than the flood of Sayyidina Nuh Alayhissalam.

So the son of Sayyidina Nuh Alayhissalam, the son of a prophet disobeyed. What happened to him? He drowned. Why Iblees did not drown? Or why Allah did not take Iblees’ soul and finish him? Why Iblees stayed in Paradise if it cannot accept a sinner? In Paradise, on the Day of Judgment, we will ask Allah to have mercy us and to keep us under his mercy and to send us to Paradise with the shafa`a of Sayyidina Muhammad (s). Our belief is not 100% but 10 to the infinity percent that the Prophet (s) is going to take us with his shafa`a and his mercy to Paradise. We know we could never get there with our `amal, our deeds, because we are all sinners. If it was based on our deeds, we would end up like Sayyidina Nuh’s Alayhissalam son.

Wa naadaa noohun rabbahu faqaala rabbi inna ibnee min ahlee wa inna wa`daka al-haqqu wa anta ahkamu ’l-haakimeen. Qaala ya noohu innahu laysa min ahlika innahu AAamalun ghayru saalihin falaa tasalni ma laysa laka bihi `ilmun innee a`idhuka an takoona mina ’l-jaahileen. Qaala rabbi innee a`oodhu bika an asalaka maa laysa lee bihi `ilmun wa illa taghfir lee wa tarhamnee akun mina ’l-khaasireen.

And Noah called upon his Lord, and said: "O my Lord! surely my son is of my family! and Thy promise is true, and Thou art the justest of Judges!"

He said: "O Noah! He is not of thy family: For his conduct is unrighteous. So ask not of Me that of which thou hast no knowledge! I give thee counsel, lest thou act like the ignorant!"

Noah said: "O my Lord! I do seek refuge with Thee, lest I ask Thee for that of which I have no knowledge. And unless thou forgive me and have Mercy on me, I should indeed be lost!" Hud, 11:45-47.

He said, "This is my son, he is from my blood; he is from my family." Allah said, "No he is not from your family. The one who is from your family is the one with good amal. I am taking him and if you ask me again, then I warn you that you will also be among the ignorant.” Allah was frightening Sayyidina Nuh Alayhissalam and Sayyidina Nuh Alayhissalam replied, “Ya Rabbee, forgive me.”

That is what happened to the son of a prophet. Iblees, an angel disobeyed Allah, but He left him in Paradise. For human beings on Judgment Day, only those who under the shafa`a, intercession of Prophet, will be in Paradise. If someone did not come under prophet’s mercy and shafa`a, then he will repent and be asked of what he has done, then he can go to Paradise, because Paradise does not accept sinner.

He was not thrown from Paradise to earth because Allah’s will is that he go and tempt Adam Alayhissalam. Allah wanted Adam Alayhissalam and his wife to go to earth. That is His iraada; it is His Will they fall to earth and build this generation for the entire human race to come.

So Allah gave Iblees permission to whisper to Sayyidina Adam Alayhissalam and Sayyida Hawwa to eat from the tree. Adam listened to his whispering and ate from the forbidden tree, but what can he say to Allah for his disobedience?

You have to have adab, manners, and say “Oh, Allah all my good actions are from you and the bad ones are from me. Ya Rabbee, it is my fault, forgive me.” Allah forgave Adam because he repented. Iblees did not; he said to Allah, “You made me do it.” Allah then ordered Iblees to earth and he asked, “Ok, but give me life to the end of time.” He is speaking to his lord, sending messages and receiving answers through angels. Iblees, the one who is cursed in the Holy Qur’an, is speaking to Allah and getting a response. He believes in Allah, but Allah’s Will is to bring the human race to earth and introduce his beloved Prophet to humanity. If the human race were to have stayed in Paradise, there would be no reason for Allah to send His Prophet to humanity, because they would all be worshipping like angels. Allah wanted to demonstrate the excellent character of Prophet Muhammad (s) and the importance of his role as master of creation in all these universes. That could not be seen in Paradise. Allah wants everyone to know it is because of Prophet Muhammad (s), you enter Paradise. Not that you enter Paradise because of Paradise.

Sayyidina Adam Alayhissalam knew that secret so he said, “Ya Rabbee, for the sake of Muhammad (s) forgive me.” Allah wondered how he knew of Muhammad (s) and Adam said, “Anywhere in Paradises you look, you see the name of Muhammad. Even on your throne, his name is written.” Allah wanted everyone on earth to know the importance of Sayyidina Muhammad (s) that because of him, He created creation and because of him, He is going to send us to our last station and status because of the intercession of the Prophet (s).

He wants to present the Beloved One to be like a shining diamond that has no resemblance on earth or in Paradise--not anywhere. Allah wants to present Sayyidina Muhammad (s) to human, jinn, angels—and to all other creation that we don’t know about—that is why He sent them all to earth to continue the life and to know about Prophet Muhammad (s).

He told all of creation, “If Prophet Muhammad comes in your lifetime, you must follow him.”

That taste of love for Prophet Muhammad is not in us. That is the problem. If we were to taste it, we would feel his presence, his light, his holy smell, and his appearances. We would feel him watching us and how near he is to us, but nowadays only awliya are inheriting that from Sahaaba. We are not. If Sayyidina Nuh Alayhissalam cared so much for his son, can you imagine how much the Prophet cares for his Ummah? Allah wanted us to know that La ilaha ill-Allah Muhammadun Rasulullah, “There is no God but Allah and Muhammad is his Messenger.” The secret of that tawheed, Oneness, did not open yet and its reality will not open until Judgment Day. Its meaning will open now in the Last Days, when Mahdi Alayhissalam comes and Sayyidina `Isa Alayhissalam comes, so people can taste of it, but its reality will only come in Paradise. Now it is only a phrase that comes on the tongues of people but Allah said, “The best of words is La ilaha ill-Allah Muhammadun Rasulullah.”

May He keep these meetings always and keep the love of Prophet in our hearts, love of Mawlana shaykh in our hearts, of Grandshaykh Abdullah ad-Daghestani in our hearts and love of each other in our hearts.

Bi hurmatil Fatiha.

The one who knows all the prophets is Sayyidina Muhammad (s).

That Sayyidina `Isa Alayhissalam is His Word, alqaaha ila Maryam, He gave to Maryam. And then for Sayyidina Adam Alayhissalam he said, two, wa nafakhtu feehi min ruhee, I blow into him from my ruh. Ruh no one can explain what is that. His ruh is light? It is the light that Allah has thrown into him, “I blow into him from My soul”; we cannot say ruh is soul here, but [its meaning is] His light, His order, His word. There is another that says amruhum, for Sayyidina Adam Alayhissalam, that Allah has sent his amr to Sayyidina Adam Alayhissalam. That is where uli 'l-amr, the authority, the energy, that is correct; that is that energy

Hurting the Feelings of Others

Mawlana Shaykh Hisham Kabbani | Saturday, Dec 13, 2008 | Washington, DC US

A`udhu billah min ash-shaytan ir-rajeem

Bismillahi 'r-Rahmani 'r-Raheem

Nawaytu'l-arba`een, nawaytu'l-`itikaaf, nawaytu'l-khalwah, nawaytu'l-riyaada, nawaytu's-salook, nawaytu'l-`uzlah lillahi ta`ala fee hadha'l-masjid

They say that if speaking is from silver, if you like to talk, it is equal to silver, then to be silent is equal to gold because we cannot as a human being control our tongues. And the biggest problem in this world is that people are not able to control their tongues from talking. And the Prophet Sayyidina Muhammad (s) he said, in the meaning of his hadith, tradition, part of the hadith is that “anyone who can guarantee for me,” he is saying, “can guarantee for me his tongue,” he didn’t say “his tongue” but he said, "what is between his jaws, I will guarantee for him Paradise.” Because you don’t know how you might address people and you hurt their feelings.

I heard my master in his teachings to many Muslim and non-Muslim. …As I said, "the place is small but the hearts are big.”

So… the Prophet (s), I heard my teacher many times was saying that “people might commit sins, too many and they might do things that are not allowed.” It means they might lie or they might cheat or they might because of their greediness, they might raise prices more than it should be, or they might do other things, not listening to the mother or the father or the elders, or not following what they need to follow in their beliefs, all that if you ask repentance, Allah will forgive you. God will forgive you. Anything that is between you and God, Allah swt, you do something wrong and you might take something to your advantage from the rights of your Lord, you repent, Allah is merciful He will forgive you.

As it is said in the Holy Qur'an, “Say [O Muhammad] to the people, ‘If they were oppressors to themselves, let them not lose hope of My forgiveness. I will forgive them, just let them repent.”

God is always merciful. But the problem is that when we hurt the feeling of someone else or we backbite someone else or we spread a bad rumor about someone else, the problem is not that you repent and god will forgive. The problem is that the person you hurt you must ask forgiveness. So there is a problem there. Might be the person you ask will not forgive you. So what happens? You are falling into a valley that has not bottom.

When the Prophet (s) asked his companions about the meaning of bankruptcy, and we have lot of bankruptcy going around today. He asked them, “who is the bankrupt one?” They said, "whoever loses his wealth.” He said, "No, this is not the real meaning of bankrupt." Although that is what we understand, bankruptcy is whoever lost all his wealth. He said, "No, the bankrupt one is the one who has no good deeds to present to God on Judgment Day.” And the companions said, "even if he is praying and fasting?” and he said, "even if he is praying and fasting, he might not have any good deeds.” They were surprised.

So it means on the Day of Judgment, and it is called judgment like you are judged here in a court, one person accuses the other. So on the Day of Judgment whoever has been harmed he will give from his good deeds to give to you. If he hurt you a lot then all the good deeds he did in his life will be transferred to you. Then he will be left with nothing, bankrupted.

So we said at the beginning that the Prophet (s) Muhammad (s) and Jesus Alayhissalam and Moses Alayhissalam and Abraham Alayhissalam and Noah Alayhissalam, all these heavenly religions came to discipline us and to teach how to behave with each other and to be relate with each other. That is the message that we have to carry with us.

Unfortunately many of us they try to hurt the others… in different ways. Look. Some Muslims hurt the majority of Muslims. Why? Because they thought this is their way, so even though they prayed and fasted, as the prophet said, because they hurted the other they are bankrupted in the presence of Allah they have nothing, they deserve punishment. Those who blended or branded or labeled the name of Islam and Muslim as terrorists because of their actions that they killed innocent people, they hurt the whole Muslim community. And not only the Muslim community, but they hurt the whole human race. What do you think the punishment will be on them. It is not going to be an easy punishment.

Antichrist, and we know in the Holy Bible and in the Torah of Moses Alayhissalam and in the Holy Qur'an and the holy hadith of the prophet, about the last days we know that Antichrist is coming. Antichrist means the one who does not accept Jesus Alayhissalam coming back on earth .it means he does not accept except his own belief. How many Antichrist we now have around this world?

Prophet Muhammad (s) came 1400 years ago and delivered his message and he said, "Tis message will go to the Day of Judgment and in the Last Days Jesus Alayhissalam will come back, and him and one of my grandchildren, Mahdi Alayhissalam, will come to eliminate injustice." But before that a lot of confusion that Antichrist will bring on earth before Jesus Alayhissalam comes. So Jesus Alayhissalam will come to eliminate what the Antichrist is doing.

So how many nowadays can be called “Antichrist on earth” that they are damaging the reputation of Islam and Muslims and against all heavenly messages? And they are coming against all messages and they are coming against every one who doesn’t accept them and the Antichrist will come against the whole world because they don’t accept him, and he will come and conquer one land after another. You found this in Bible in and in the hadith of the Holy Prophet (s). So he will establish himself in one place and then use that place to take over other places. That is the point of departure, intilaq in Arabic, to take over different places in order to take over the whole world.

And the Prophet (s) said, "His evil power will move from one place to another.” Look today you see these circles of evilness, they are forming circles of evilness and they are doing all kinds of miseries around the world, problems around the world; terrorism around the world; fighting around the world; hijacking now, vessels and boats around the world. All kinds of evil work they are doing and this is because they are inheritors of what the Antichrist is coming with, they are paving the road for Antichrist. That means they are his supporters and we are looking and we are surprised how many of them coming around the world, destroying all kinds of beliefs.

“Antichrist,” the Prophet (s) said, "he will not accept except his own beliefs.” He will say to you “if you accept me ok, if you don’t accept me…” he will eliminate them. And he will eliminate anyone who does not accept his belief and he will use massive elimination. And are we not seeing massive eliminations? Yes, look in Iraq, with suicide bombings. In other countries. And 911, after 911, before 911. Look in Africa how they are fighting. All of that is like a collection of different places around the world, with the same behavior and same ideology. Even if their belief is not Muslim but they are from different religions, but their focus, their belief, is to create confusion on earth either by their speeches or by their actions. Listen to what they say in their speeches. They are fiery speeches. And the Prophet (s) said, "Anyone who can guarantee what is between his jaws … I will guarantee for him Paradise.”

These people we don’t hear from them except threatenings and Antichrist comes with threatenings, he cannot come with other than that. He comes before Jesus Alayhissalam, before `Isa Alayhissalam. And as I said, he has supporters. These supporters are coming out of their caves now and are spreading this earth with all these kinds of confusion. Unfortunately there is no end for it. The end will come with arrival of Antichrist. Because the evil power always going to be from century to century And in this century it is increasing a lot.

So what we have to do then is, as the Prophet (s) said, "There will coming a time that there will be huge confusions around the world. Like chunks,… You know how you look at the sky at night and you don’t see any stars, there are huge chunks of dark night. He said, "Confusions will be so dark and so huge,” as if someone looking in the sky and seeing huge darkness there, no light. So at that time he said, "there will be lot of confusions around the world.” He said, "the one sitting, the one who is sitting, means sitting at home or sitting looking after his work, and sitting looking after his children and his family is better than the one standing and looking from the window.” He might receives something that might hurt him. The one looking is exposed. The one who is sitting on his chair, he is not looking outside there is no exposure for anything. He is not going to be exposed. He said, "the one who is sitting, is better than the one who is standing the one who is standing better than one walking the one walking on the street is better…?

And he said, "If you get angry at that time, then hit on a stone.” Hit your hand or your stick, it means get your anger out on that stone, until you break your stick. At that time “take your bow and arrow and hit it on the rock.” Don’t involve with anyone as something might hurt you. We are in such days.

That is why one of the companions of the Prophet (s), Sayyidina `Ali (r), karam-Allahu wajha, wa Alayhissalam, he said, "you have to be careful what you are saying and what you want to say.” Today what makes people falling into problems is they have to know what they have to speak and what they have to say. He said, "before you speak judge yourself before you talk anything."

Does anyone judge himself before he speaks? Look today these talk shows. Did you see any show they didn’t criticize each other? This one criticize this one and that one criticize that one. They say two opinions. What is the benefit? You are making more confusion with two opinions that one says something and that one says another: Who is right and who is wrong? Both consider they are right.

So the best is to keep silent. Study, learn, raise a family. Look at your work and don’t involve yourself too much with issues that don’t concern you. I don’t want to be long, but as he said, Sayyidina `Ali (r):

اعمل لدنياك كأنك تعيش أبداً ، و اعمل لآخرتك كأنك تموت غدا

A`amal li-dunyaka ka-annaka ta`ayshu abadan wa a`amal li akhiratika ka-annaka tamootu ghaddan - do for you lifetime that you are living on this earth as if you are living forever.”

It means be ambitious do what you want to do, but check what you want to say, but try to do the maximum, No problem. But make sure you do for your other life, the afterlife, as if you are dying tomorrow.

So look at the both sides. He said, "look at this world as if you are living forever. But keep in mind you might die tomorrow. You have to keep both sides, as any time you might be called and asked.

So the best in this time is to raise good children and a good family and to as soon as possible to get them married. You cannot leave your children without marriage. Too much temptations. Too much unacceptable acts that might make your children to fall down, as we are seeing outside in the streets, too much between girls and boys with drugs that are ruining their lives. Why? Because we are delaying their studies and we are delaying, we are not encouraging them to finish as quick as possible and then get married. Everyone is saying to wait and wait and wait, until they become 60 years old. Like Sayyid `Ali (r). Are you married.

I want to as to all of you that I am very, very sorry that I am not able to make it for the wedding of Dr. Tasneem’s son and although I promised but she said, " I can break my promised because my shaykh, my teacher, my father in law, Mawlana Shaykh Nazim he has called me to come to Cyprus as an emergency, so I am not able to stay and be there. And there is nice wedding going there in ny and Shaykh Ahsan if he accepts, will go there and perform the wedding on Mawlana Shaykh’s behalf - not on my behalf. As he is going to perform the wedding here today on Shaykh Nazim’s behalf.

He knows about it by name and he said I will pray for her son and for the wedding.

Since I am here and I think Shaykh Ahsan will give permission to conduct the wedding it is not an issue.

Raihan, I am sorry really and tell your father, I am really sorry, but it came like emergency so I have to go there. But insh-Allah we come back and congratulate you personally, insha-Allah.

So now we will do small dhikr and for the blessings of the dhikr and with permission of Shaykh Ahsan we do the wedding, or he will do the wedding.

Mawlana Shaykh Hisham Kabbani | Sunday, Nov 16, 2008 | Colombo LK

Ati` Allah wa ati` ar-rasula wa uli 'l-amri minkum

First of all I would like to say that it is an honor for us to be hosted here in Colombo with brother Haneef, and with you and your brother Dr. Hosni and your family and Shaykh Izzat, and may Allah swt give you honor dunya and akhira.

May Allah keep us together with Mawlana Shaykh Nazim and Allah give him long life.

Alhamdulillah that everywhere you go in this country you look you see a tea plantation, everywhere. And who planted these trees? Someone. And who is benefiting from these trees are us, the people. So Allah swt wants us to benefit. He doesn’t want us to be like animals, although animals are benefiting, but Allah said he honored human being.

Wa laqad karramna banee adama wa hamalnaahum fi ’l-barri wa ’l-bahri wa razaqnaahum mina alttayyibati wa faddalnahum `ala katheerin mimman khalaqnaa tafdeela

We have honored the sons of Adam; provided them with transport on land and sea; given them for sustenance things good and pure; and conferred on them special favours, above a great part of our creation. Al-Isra [17:70]

Allah didn’t say I honored animals but Allah said he honored us he honored us with what? There are many explanations on that. Honored us to make us human beings. He made human beings calipha on earth. He honored us because he sent as a messenger Sayyidina Muhammad (s) and he made Sayyidina Muhammad (s) to intercede for everyone of us. There are a lot of honors that Allah gave to humanity.

As everyone thinks that “why we are on earth? Why we are here, for what reason? Why did we not stay in paradise?”

Allah’s swt wisdom Allah’s Will, is to make this earth to be a house for humanity. This earth is a house for people. But Allah makes every people and every person, in his heart he gave him a house, a heavenly house. People don’t think. They think this heart is this big and is always pumping. What is bigger? Which is more intelligent, which is more clever? The mind or the heart? Do you think with your heart or you think with your mind? Hug? Confusing question. We think with mind or we think with heart. Everyone will say no, “we think with the mind.” The Mind has limitation or no limitation? People say “no limitation” because the mind can think too much. The heart has limitations or no? The heart has limitation. But in reality the heart has no limitation, but the mind has limitation.

All scholars, not Muslim scholars but scientists, the say the mind is the main focus for the whole body to give commands and orders; to make everything work. And that is why it says that as much as you have high IQ, as much as your intellectuality grows up. And that is why you see people have no limitation of money, they are greedy. People are running after what? They are running after money. If they are running after something else they would be like Sayyida Maryam.

كُلَّمَا دَخَلَ عَلَيْهَا زَكَرِيَّا الْمِحْرَابَ وَجَدَ عِندَهَا رِزْقاً

kullama dakhala `alayha zakariyya al-mihraba wajada `indaha rizqa

Whenever he entered her niche he (Zakariyya) found provision there. Al-Imran [3:37]

Awliyaullah they left dunya and Allah made dunya to come after them. He made dunya slave to them. Now we are slave to dunya. But dunya is servant to awliyaullah. That is why you see awliyaullah they are sitting in their chair or lying in their beds, Allah sends provisions to their hands, either money or food or what. But people, human being, running after what? Running after money, because they are what? Greedy. So mind takes you so far in greediness in order to get more, to get more. If Allah gave you this much you want this much. If He gave you this much, you want thiiiiis much you cannot stop.

Then when He makes you sick, you begin to say, “Ya Rabbee! Cure me!” Before that no. So the mind, they say, scientists, has no limits, it goes so far. But what Allah says? We want scientists or we want Allah swt. Allah said:

ما وسعني أرضي ولا سمائي ولكن وسعني قلب عبدي المؤمن

That is why Allah, the Exalted, said, “Neither heavens nor earth contained Me, but the heart of My believing servant contained Me.”

It is holy hadith, hadith qudsee, that is revealed to the Prophet (s) and it is a hadith that is revealed by Jibreel. Neither my heavens nor my earth contained me…

Can mind contain… Allah didn’t say the mind will contain Me. But he said the heart. The heavens and earth cannot contain me. Because He is the creator. Nothing can contain the Creator. Everything is contained by Him. Allah said the heavens and earth are folded in His Hands. How you fold a book, heavens and earth, everything is in His Hands. When Allah wants to resurrect people, He will change this earth to another earth:

يَوْمَتُبَدَّلُ الأَرْضُ غَيْرَ الأَرْضِ وَالسَّمَاوَاتُ وَبَرَزُواْ للّهِ الْوَاحِدِالْقَهَّارِ

Yawma tubaddalu’l-ardu ghayra ’l-ardi wa’s-samaawaatu wa barazoo lillahi ’l-wahidi ’l-qahhaar

One day the earth will be changed to a different earth, and so will be the heavens, and (men) will be marshalled forth, before Allah, the One, the Irresistible; Ibrahim [14:48]

Then He says by Himself to Himself? "To whom is the kingdom today?" Telling to these tyrants… because we are tyrants. We might not be tyrants to others but we are tyrants to ourselves. We are not obeying Allah’s orders. We are not obeying the Prophet’s orders. We are not obeying those who are in authority on us, awliyaullah. So we are tyrants to ourselves. So Allah will say "to whom is the kingdom this day?" And the answer is lillahi’l-wahid al-qahaar.

Nothing can contain Allah but the heart of the believer. That means the one who gave his heart to Allah, Allah will fill it with the manifestation of Allah’s lights. All these manifestations are coming from heavens. Wherever there is a group like that, remembering Allah and remembering the Prophet, Allah will send His sakinah on those people, the tranquility on those people. You might not feel it but the heart will feel it.

You have computer, when you want to download information, huh? The computer doesn’t feel it. It is a box made of metal. But what is inside is the chips that work together. The outside body that is full of bad manners and bad behavior will not feel the information that Allah is downloading to the heart.

Awliyaullah, Allah gave them the code to upload and download. They can take and see what they have inside. Us no. So the information went there but you don’t have the code to bring it up. So that is why people are sitting. You think they are sitting for free. No Allah is rewarding. But it goes to the chip which is recording.

يقول الله : ما وسعني أرضي ولا سمائي ولكن وسعني قلب عبدي المؤمن

That is why Allah, the Exalted, said, “Neither heavens nor earth contained Me, but the heart of My believing servant contained Me.”

How big is the heart. How big is the brain, doctor? The size of the skull. In reality the intelligence comes from a small part of the brain. So small, I was reading about it, they say, the scientists they say is smaller than the seed of a lentil, where all this intelligence. Comes from. This is a small planted seed inside the brain where all the intelligence goes and from brain goes to the body.

Small chip. Now in the computer you have small chip carrying all that information. What do you think about the heavenly chip that Allah planted in your brain.

For computer these chips, how many software they make in order to understand these chips and take info out. How many software is there in dunya. How many engineers is needed. How many engineers are needed to get only one software. Might be 5-6 eng. Work together to make one software in one or 2 years. Let us say there are 1 million software. Are there more. No way. And how many engineers are going to work for 1 million software.

Allah swt kun fayakoon. Today there are 6 billion software. How many human beings. Every human being has a software by himself. Do you think the software in one person is the same as the software in another? No, everyone is different, but all of them relate to each other.

How many languages are there in [human] software. 50, 60, 100 that they can speak with each other. For one software to talk to another they must have a language.

But all of us relate to each other. So look every human being can relate to every other human being. How many software do they have the?

So even as big as the mind is, the heart is bigger. If the brain with that small chip has all this intelligence and all this... and this power it has and look with all the laboratories they have and all this technology, all is through the brain, not the heart. But Allah said if you use the heart you can contain the Nur. My light. That means if we are giving the code to open the heart then we see miracles. That is why awliyaullah they do miracles. That is why they bring you knowledge you never heard before. That is what you see with Bayazid al-Bistami, that is what you see with Sirr as-Saqati, with Shah Naqshband with Shaykh Nazim with Grandshaykh, with Abdul Qadir Jilani, how many there are. How? Because they have the code.

You go to his office, you want to take information out of his computer - can you do it? No, you cannot because why? He has a password. He has so strong a password. But there are hackers who can get it. The world is not nice, but awliyaullah are hackers. They can open up any password. That is why you have to be very careful in front of them. That is why as much as you can to be away, as much as it is better. People say, "why don’t you stay there?” No, awliyaullah are like fire. Any mistake in their presence… Make a mistake outside… But in his presence, you cannot - it is difficult. You cannot - it is not easy.

The first time we traveled, one time we traveled with Mawlana Shaykh both of us, we were visiting Southeast Asia, I will not say where, you know where. And it was first time to go to that country. They put both of us in one room, me and Mawlana Shaykh Nazim and one bed. A big bed, one bed. And Mawlana said, “Sleep on the bed,” but I felt shy so I was sleeping on the floor. He said, “No sleep on the bed with me.” He is on one side and I am one side. All night you cannot sleep. You cannot as you will lose your wudu. You cannot lose your wudu in the presence of the Sultanu ’l-Awliya of this time. When he is sleeping he is in the presence of the Prophet (s) and when he is awake he is in presence of the Prophet (s). How are you going to be in that presence and you lose wudu. And I am afraid to make any movement you might disturb him.

That is why it is not easy to be all the time near. Though we love to be there all the time, but hey are spies of the heart. So any mistake, it will be considered a big mistake in their presence. You cannot. That is why when the Prophet (s) was describing Maqaam al-Ihsan, he said, "You can pray your prayer, but when you reach Maqaam al-Ihsan, you cannot any more have any bad thoughts come to your mind when you are praying.” Then you aren’t in Maqaam al-Ihsan. In that maqaam you cannot see and you cannot hear except the Presence of Allah swt. You cannot say “Allahu Akbar” and as soon as you say it you begin to think about the car you are going to drive and the white car and black car and the motorcade in front of you and you are sleeping. When you enter in prayer doesn’t it come, these thoughts? That is not Maqaam al-Ihsan - you are still in the normal level. .

So awliyaullah when you are sitting there any gossip comes to your heart they get it out, they see it quickly. When you are far they don’t look. But when you are in their presence, they see. That is why it is not simple. Many times they tell me, “come and sit,” but I run away. But the other side will say, "O no, no leave it.” Especially when he has guests. When he has guests you run. I used to see him when he was with Grandshaykh, he used to run. He never stays.

Then after 10,15 minutes he says, “Mawlana do you need anything? I am going to market.” He knows, when Shaykh needs me, he will call me. Leave him, with his own work.

So in any case Allah said, “Neither heavens nor earth contained Me, but the heart of My believing servant contained Me.”

That means the believer the mu’min the one who reached the highest level of sainthood is able to get all these manifestation and all these secrets. What we know about secrets. We speak about secrets but did we enter. Like someone taking a book and reading and reading and reading. So that Dr. Abdul Wahid prescribed me an antibiotic. If you take the antibiotic you will get well. Ok, so I go to pharmacy and buy the antibiotic. And open it and read the pamphlet and it says, "it does this and it is good and it is good and also at the end it has side effects." But I am not taking it. When you take it, it clears it up, opens it up. When you have flu or cough if you are not taking the medicine it does nothing. But if you are reading, reading to eliminate the side-effects if you are no taking the medicine… Take away all these veils from the presence of the Prophet (s) and presence of Allah.

So today what do we do? We read. Do we do anything else. All of us. What differ us from awliyaullah is that they live these experiences. They live the instructions. The instructions say take this, they take this. If Mawlana said, "Don’t do this!” they don’t to this. If Mawlana says, “Do that,” they do that.

Mawlana Grandshaykh used to say, in every suhbat, he said that we are under two orders that the Prophet (s) showed to us. You are under these two: eliminate forbiddens and encourage yourself to orders. There are 500 commands to do that we will be rewarded and there 800 forbiddens. With two zeros. 800 forbiddens that you must not do in your life. Like cheating, conspiring, backbiting, lying, jealousy. All these bad chars, you have to eliminate.

Awliyaullah they eliminate one after one, one after one.

And Mawlana Shaykh said one time to me, in a suhbat, that when Grandshaykh ordered him for seclusion in Sayyidina Abdul Qadir Jilani Mosque in Baghdad, he was thinking about, Mawlana said, “that there are 800 forbiddens. And Mawlana Grandshaykh was telling him, “try your best to eliminate these forbiddens.” Because what do you do in seclusion? You teach yourself to eliminate bad thoughts and to do dhikr and salawat, which will become very difficult especially in last ten days of seclusion.

So I was thinking, when he was telling me, how many can you count of bad manners? You can think of 20, 30 but how to get to 800. And when awliyaullah say 800 it is 800. So we go back to that word “hacking”.

So Mawlana Shaykh said, “I took a notebook like this, that every time comes to my heart ‘do this forbidden,’ I wrote it.” It was a 6-month seclusion. He said, “at the end I was able to count 187 bad manners.” It took how long? Six months to count them; to write it and then try to eliminate it. The Shaykh will inspire to your heart either through a dream or through a vision, .. like a puzzle or a maze you go to this door, this door, this door, any door you are led too, there is this puzzle to open it. For example for this, “Ya Haleem.” At end of seclusion you end with huge list of awraad. You have to be doing awraad in every moment.

So he said, "I counted 187 bad manners.” “Counted them” means he eliminated them. He counted 187 of them means he hacked them. Go into them and tear them apart. It means that a secret appeared, because every time you eliminate one a veil is taken from you and the Prophet (s).

Awliyaullah are not easy in their ways of understanding what is necessary for them, because from their early life they begin to go thru these experiences that take them to reach highest level of sainthood. Else to eliminate 800 forbiddens is not so simple.

Mawlana Grandshaykh, may Allah bless his soul, he said in one of his suhbat, and that is why I have some of his notes, we have a lot of these, like this one, I have 200, 300 of these books. I used to write every word he used to say.

He said, that “to avoid one forbidden, you will be rewarded more than if you have done the 500 commands.” To avoid one forbidden you will be rewarded as if you did the 500 commands, orders that the Prophet (s) ordered you to do. If you leave one forbidden for the sake of Allah it is to Him more rewardable than to do the 500 maamooraat. now some people will take it as “O, I will leave one of the forbidden and then I don’t need to pray.” There are some people who say and do like that, they say “I don’t need to pray.” Then they accuse us of that, of not praying and not fasting, the Sufis, and that is not true. Because there are some people who are crazy.

So one forbidden to leave it to eliminate it from your life, because they come back and repeat itself, it comes back to you each time. So to leave it one time you will be rewarded more than the 500 orders. Imagine how much is Allah generous and generous and wants to give. What is the meaning of al-Kareem. It means He gives without limits. If you limit His giving then you took the value of His generosity. Then you are not giving the honor and the right to His name al-Kareem. Al-Kareem means generous that never ends. Even you have problems, you don’t know what kind of generosity Allah is sending on human beings. That is why He wanted from generosity. Then we go back. Allah wanted this earth. Look Mars, what is on Mars? Can you live on Mars? No water, nothing. Can you live on Venus? No. On Pluto? No. On what other? Jupiter? No? On all these stars that are in our solar system. Can you live? No. Why earth? Why on Earth which is the smallest one. Why not on the bigger planets. Why He gave us this planet, why not everyone can have one planet. He give me the earth, He gives you the sun, He gives you. Then no more problems. Why all these planets. Why not He give you Jupiter; He give you Pluto is it not better.

How many stars are there. [countless] there are 80 billion star in one galaxy and they counted 6000 galaxies and every galaxy 80 100 billion. They are speaking too much about billions these days so we keep in our mind billions. If everyone one of us takes one star, and He leaves him alone there alone, is it not good? Don’t think you don’t have a star there. You have one star there, your reality is in one of these stars. Everyone has a star there. When awliyaullah want to look at you they look at your star. They know what you are and they know all your secrets is there Allah gave everyone a designated star there to represent him in His presence. … don’t think Allah sent us on earth to torture and punish us. He created us out of His love. Out of His love came that beauty in the creation of human being. When that whim came to show His beauty, He showed it in human beings. That beauty, al-Jamal al-Jameel, when that will came to show His beauty, then Adam was created. We are not going into that subject because it is so deep.

But why earth, why not Mars, why not Jupiter? There is nothing there, only earth that has everything. We leave this for next time, tomorrow, insha-Allah.

Wa min Allah at-tawfeeq, bi-hurmatil Fatiha.

So when I leave this to tomorrow he said, ok, say, no now! It is better.

Next time, tomorrow. [No, now Sayyidee!]

Read the Signs

Mawlana Shaykh Hisham Kabbani
| Friday, Nov 07, 2008 | Chicago, IL US

La tukthir li hammik, ma quddir yakoon

Allahu’l-muqaddir wa’l-`alam shu`oon

There is one poetry from one of the big `ulama…

Audhu billah min ash-shaytan ir-rajeem

Bismillahi 'r-Rahmani 'r-Raheem

Nawaytu'l-arba`een, nawaytu'l-`itikaaf, nawaytu'l-khalwah, nawaytu'l-riyaada, nawaytu's-salook, nawaytu'l-`uzlah lillahi ta`ala fee hadha'l-masjid

First, we like to say that, and we have to repeat every time, because Allah said in Holy Qur'an,

وَذَكِّرْفَإِنَّ الذِّكْرَى تَنفَعُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ

Wa dhakkir fa inna adh-dhikra tanfa`u al-mumineena

But teach (thy Message) for teaching benefits the Believers. Surat adh-Dhaariyat [51:55]

Allah is saying to the Holy Prophet (s) that remind them because by reminder believers get benefit. If you don’t remind people how are they going to get benefit. Might be you see I am doing a mistake, your obligation is to remind me that I made a mistake. This is very difficult today. People don’t like anyone to tell they did a mistake.

“Al-amr bi ’l-ma`ruf wan-nahiy `ani ’l-munkar - to call for what is good and to object to what is bad.” All of us have things we do that Allah is happy with it and we have things that we do that Allah is not happy with it. So Allah says in Holy Qur'an to the Prophet (s): “Remind them! Because by reminding them they get benefit.”

Doctors today, they have something that they send you after you visit them, they send you a letter that this is the time to make a check back, to make a checkup. They are reminding you. Don’t think we treated you. Ok they treated you when you are in need for acute treatment. Don’t say “ok, my doctor treated me,” so I am ok. Might be you need a checkup. Might be your blood changed now; might be your sugar changed now, you have diabetes now. So doctors remind people.Come and check, come and check. Allah swt sent to humanity, not the best doctor, but He sent to humanity themaster of masters of doctors. The master of master of kings, the master of master of leadership, the master of master of knowing everything. Allah sent Sayyidina Muhammad (s) to remind us. That is why the Allah sent the Prophet Muhammad (s) as a carrier of revelation and telling him to remind them, remind them, remind them every moment.

So that is why Sayyidina `Umar (r)when he because ameer al-mumineen he appointed, he called someone to sit at this door every day. When he goes out form his house, eh will remind him, that person, “Ya Umar remember death!” Not to say “Ya ameer al-mumineen”, not to say “Sayyidina `Umar (r).”

Out of respect we have to say “ameer al-mumineen” and out of respect we have to say “Sayyidina `Umar (r).” But him he doesn’t want to give respect to his ego. Awliyaullah and Sahaba they understood that. Don’t give respect to yourself. When Allah gives you respect then you are honored. You don’t want to honor yourself by yourself, then that is arrogance. Today we honor ourselves by ourselves. So what Sayyidina `Umar (r) do? He appointed someone to remind him when he goes in the door, “Ya `Umar, there is death.” And when he goes out, “Ya `Umar there is death.”

Then one day. Sayyidina `Umar (r) called him and said thank you very much. You did a good job. Now your job is finish. That man became sad, he loves Sayyidina `Umar (r). He is not doing for money, he is doing it for love of Sayyidina `Umar (r). he said, did I do anythingwrong. So he said, "no you did good job”. But Allah said in Holy Qur'an, Wa dhakkir fa inna adh-dhikra tanfa`u al-mumineena - to remind the mumins will benefit them. That is why don’t get angry when someone reminds you of something. You get angry quickly when someone says something. I get angry he get angry. All get angry. Don’t say I need to sit up, his leg is hurting as he had car accident. Alhamdulillah I don’t have pain by Allah’s blessing. Sitting here I can see everyone, sitting down I cannot. So one is sitting up because of pain and the other to see. there Is no difference Between any of us. We are all from the nation of Sayyidina Muhammad (s). We are all equal.

I like him. Whenever I say the name of Sayyidina Muhammad (s) he stands up. I am noticing him. Respect. He reminds himself. “O you! Stand out of respect, stand up!” He has a reminder.

Now on the computer they put a thing called what? A reminder. For certain work you have to do. This is a computer. Doesn’t Allah have a computer? This computer we have compared to heavenly computer is a toy, a plastic computer. There are heavenly computers that bring everything back. Whatever you have downloaded or uploaded zoom in or zoom out. You find it all there in heavenly computer. We are not going to discuss that now.

So Sayyidina `Umar (r) said, "Finished, I don’t need a reminder now. Someone is reminding me now of death.” He said, "I love you ya Sayyidina `Umar (r). Did you get someone else?” he said, “No. Today I found in my beard, that in my black beard one white hair. That is a reminder in me now, that akhira is approaching. I am moving towards my last days.”

Look his beard is white, my beard is white. What does that mean? Look his beard is black. What does that mean Abdul Wahid? [it means he is young] He is young. I am older, he is older. But no one knows. Allah knows how long each one is going to live. It is a reminder you are carrying a computer in your body telling that time has finished your time is approaching. You cannot take another person’s time and another’s. And in that time Allah gave us a lot of opportunities to be with the Prophet (s).

We have to stand up also.

Why Allah gave Ottomans 700 years of khilapha. They ruled from Spain up, I went one time to an island in Malaysia, It is within Malaysia and they said we want to take you to that island. Malaysia, in SE Asia. They took me to meet someone who is very old, might 110 year of age. But strong. They said we want to go visit his house. We went there and we saw a picture. They said, "Do you know whose picture is this?” of course I know it is obvious. It is Sultan Abdul Hameed who was in the early 20th cent. He was sultan of Ottoman empire from Spain all the way to Malaysia. I was surprised. Ottomans reached Malaysia? That old man said, " and that was ten year or more ago” he said that my father put that picture there. And he said, "this is our king, our sultan. This is the sultan of Muslims.”Like that one was young. So that one put the picture ands telling his children this is our sultan. They never saw him, he is in Turkey and they never could reach there. It means Islam reached these areas and ottomans hey were in control of these areas. That is why in association of the sultan when the name of the Prophet (s) is mentioned they stand up. Now they mentioned hundreds of times and no one stands up. That is why because of their love to the Prophet (s) and respect the ummah was up. Allah chose the Prophet (s)and selected him and respected him. If we respect whom Allah respected we will be raised up. That is why Muslims are coming down and down. Why? Because we are not respecting our leader.

So Sayyidina `Umar (r) said, "There is a reminder now. That death is approaching. So I don’t need you anymore”

So Allah told the Prophet (s), remind them for the reminder will give them benefit.

Remind them of what. We get upset when someone reminds us. If I did something wrong and someone comes to say you did something wrong my brother, change it. What will happen? A fight will happen. Why? Because we cannot tolerate each other any more.

Because of a big struggle between good and evil. Prophet said in last days there will be too much evilness around the world. Wherever you look you look at haraam. That is evil. There is no anymore a place to look and talk and speak and do something except that it is mixed with haraam. Even you don’t want to do haraam but it is blended inside. No more is it clean pure, everything has been blended. So Allah told Muhammad (s) remind them. So our duty is to remind ourselves first. Don’t go and remind him that he is wrong when you are wrong on the same issue.

I was in Mecca, one day and sitting as everyone sitting facing the Ka`bah. Looking and making dhikr and reading Qur’an and every day. And every day someone passes and looks at me. He looks at me. He wants to speak with me and he sees me reading Holy Qur'an, and he wants me to stop, he is upset. He goes and then comes. He doesn’t like something. Goes and comes.. after one week he cant take it anymore he has to speak. He acme to me and said, "Ya shaykh!” when they say “Ya shaykh” it means they are angry. So he said, "Ya shaykh!” I am sitting there like that, I am not doing umrah or hajj because I used to live there and I go to visit Ka`bah and sit and read Qur’an.

He said, “Ya shaykh! Why your beard is long?” I looked and said, “why? any problem?” he said, “Yes.!” He was satiated. He said, "don’t you know that the Prophet’s beard was not more than one qabda?” [Means to here Shaykh shows one fist] I said, "I know.” He said, “Why then your beard is longer.” I said to him, I quote you the hadith or you quote the hadith. The Prophet (s) said, "huff ash-shawarib wa `affuw anil lahya” he said, " trim, you see they make the mustaches very small or sometimes they make, like Shaykh Mustafa, because it has two meanings, huff means take away completely, but the is not taking but they don grow. Take away completely or trim it and leave the beard. `aff `an ish-shay means “leave it to grow.”

I didn’t say don’t you know. That is not adab. When you say don’t you know that is scolding him. I said as soon as the Prophet’s beard reaches one qabda, it breaks and falls down. That is why the beard doesn’t go more. He never put a scissors on it. That is why I leave it.

He didn’t like that answer but he cannot argue with that answer. He looked at me. I said, "can I ask you a question?’ he said, "Yes.” It is good he is letting me to ask. I said, why are you asking me about my beard and you have no beard. He is complaining about my beard when he has no beard. But I remember Grandshaykh advice and Mawlana Shaykh advice, anyone comes to you and gives advice, swallow it. Listen and obey. Sam`ina wa ata`na. listen and obey. If that person what he says is according to Shari`ah no harm. If what he says contradicts the Shariah leave it.

So reminding someone is good. Allah reminded our nafs, our self, when he said, fa-alhamaha fujooraha wa taqwaaha. Allah reminded the self of what is good for it and what is bad." So if Allah is inspiring the self, that is Qur’an, Qur’an for every moment of your life. So that means every moment he is inspiring and until Judgment Day inspiring the self of what is good and what is bad. What is good continue and what is bad leave.

So reminder is good in Islamic understanding. That is why if you see someone saying something listen. Don’t throw it back in his face. It might be he is saying something good that Allah is sending that one to remind you. Why I have to say no.” because there are people whom you don’t know Allah said in Holy Qur'an, about Sayyidina Musa , and his helper, in Surat al-Kahf, fa wajada `abdan min `ibaadina.. `ilman.

Allah sent them on that tip, when Sayyidina Musa asking too many question they found one servant form one of our servants. One from many. That means that Allah has many servants. That will come and remind you at any moment in your life, without you knowing them been sent by Allah or been sent by themselves it is hidden. So that is why you have to weight everything by balance of Shariah.

Awliyaullah say if you don’t know Shariah what to do? People don’t know all the laws of Shariah. People know how to pray and fast and make wudu but there are other issue in life you don’t know. He said, Allah gave you a mind. Everyone Allah gave intelligence and gave him a mind. Different from each other, everyone has something that he can understand. And Allah says laa yukallifullahu nafsan illa wu`saha. So they say, " and that is why they are more flexible than scholars. Awliyaullah are more flexible, they can work out something with the people. Scholars cannot they have to follow 1,2,3,4,5. they cannot deviate. They have to follow the track. They didn’t know the railway there are diversions. They want to take you direct straight on the track. But they do not know there are diversions that awliyaullah can do that. According to your capacity and then come back to the straight track. According to the load or capacity youcan carry. You can carry load of a car but he can carry the weight of a truck. I cannot carry the weight of a vessel only the capacity of a truck. He is capacity of a car he is capacity of truck.

So if you cannot get an answer weigh it according to the scale of what your mind says. If you mind says “Ok” do it. Innamal amaalu bi’n-niyyaat. If your intention is good. That is why the Prophet (s) said “if a judge gives the right decision he will be rewarded twice and if wrong once” Not everyone can give the right decision. Giving right decision it is very difficult.

So weigh it according to your understanding. If it says “good”, do it. If it says “no”, back up. That is why reminder is good.

So we go back to the beginning. That man who made that poetry, he said,

La tukthir li hammik, ma quddir yakoon

Allahu’l-muqaddir wa’l-`alam shu`oon

He is talking to himself. Don’t worry too much to your problem. don’t make yourself to worry too much. What is written is written. What Allah decided he decided. W’Allahu muqaddir wal-`alam shu`oon. Allah is the one that wrote it, he is the one that planned it and the people are his subjects. Every one is a shaan. Different form the other. Allah will give every one different. So if you look at them you are looking at their creator. If you object on them you are objecting on their creator.

This is not on the first level of religion. This is at the highest level maqam al-ihsaan. Not to speak about anyone anything. To give high respect to everyone. That is not easy

According to the hadith of the Prophet, never was he asked for something and he said, " no.” never that is narrated by Bukhari and Muslim. Never he asked for something and he said, " “no.” he has to give it or he has to answer. Whatever he has been asked. How many times we have been asked something and we say “no.” prophet never.

One time Sayyidina Ayesha and this is to show how they were living. Sayyid Ayesha narrating that hadith that one day she was telling the Prophet (s) what happened to her during the day. She said, "Ya sayyidee, ya Rasulullah, ya rahmatan lil-`alameen. They don’t call him by Muhammad. They call him with respect. That is his wife. Ya Rasulullah ya nabiullah. Respect. We even mention his name with no respect. Even we say Muhammad (s), not saying rasulullah not saying sayyidee not saying habeebullah. Why is it not true. I don’t know why? It might be zallat lisan. Slip of the tongue. Some people might not do it by intention that they are disrespecting but they didn’t make it a habit to make their tongue give respect.

So she was telling him. Ya Rasulullah today a lady knocked my odor and I was so happy with the way she was handling the situation. And the Prophet (s) was listening. And she came asking for sadaqa do you have anything to give to me. She was carrying two children. One on the right and one on the left, young ones. And she asked me for a sadaqa. No money, they don’t have money. Prophet never carried money. Do we carry money? Allahu Akbar. Prophet never carried money. He used to have the sliver and gold coins but he never carried. The mountain of Uhud came to the Prophet (s) and said, "I will turn myself into gold for you.” The Prophet (s) said, “we don’t need you.” If that mountain turn into gold then the whole Ummah will be rich. But Allah made that mountain to be heaviest mountain on earth. The awliyaullah say if you put Uhud on one side of the scale and all the other mountains of earth on the other side the side of Uhud will go down.
Because of the riches inside it. Because of that baraka that whole area is full of oil. That is because of Uhud. The Saudis know if you dig you find a lot of jewelry, lot of diamonds, lot of jewelry, lot of gold but they leave it.

So she was telling the Prophet (s) what happened. So she was carrying these 2 babies and they are crying and she look through the whole house and she didn’t find but 3 dates I was saving them for you and me. How many dates you have in your house? [A lot.] How many dates we have in our house. No food. What they were eating was only dates. We eat all kinds of food. And we don’t say shukran lillahi. As if we are saying, “send more.”

So said, "I looked and I dint find except 3 dates in the whole house that I was saving, there is nothing. So I gave the 3 to her. She gave one to one baby girl and she gave the other one the other date. And in one second the dates are gone as these two babies are so hungry. So as soon as she give then the date they at the dates, they swallowed them even. And the mother took the date to eat and the daughters are looking at her. That means they are asking her. She took that date and divided it into two pieces. She gave one piece to one daughter and gave the other daughter the other piece. And the Prophet (s) said, "that lady saved herself from hellfire by that last date she gave her daughter.”

So that is why he gave another hadith, the famous hadith that “anyone who raises two daughters will enter Paradise.”

So she was able to save that third date that Sayyida Ayesha gave to her but she gave it to the two girls. The Prophet (s) house doesn’t have but 3 dates and our homes are full. So what we have to remind ourselves. Don’t worry too much about your life. Allah will not leave anyone too hungry. You are not better than the Prophet (s) who wrapped his stomach with two stones. Alhamdulillah we are reaching the point where we eat so much that even we go and vomit and eat again. That is a sickness that they go and vomit and eat again. And Ahl al-Bayt were living on hunger. Remind yourself that the Prophet (s) was hungry his children were hungry his family was hungry. If you don’t have everything at let you are not sleeping hungry. If you do that:

لَئِن شَكَرْتُمْ لأَزِيدَنَّكُمْ

la’in shakartum la-azeedanakum - If you thank Me I give you more.” Ibrahim [14:7]

Why husband and wife fight? Because they don’t thank Allahswt. Why in general you did this, you did that. For what you are fighting? For dunya that doesn't weigh in Allah’s eyes the wing of a mosquito are we fighting for it? Yes we are fighting for it this is the problem. No one is trying not to fight. Husband and wife, children and parent all are fighting to get a piece.

Go. See the moon. One day I was with Mawlana Shaykh Nazim, may Allah give him long life. He was looking at the moon of the 15th, perfect moon. He said to me, “you want the moon, I give it to you.” I didn’t understand it. It means that moon, you own it or you don’t own it what is it going to make a different if you own it, it is there, you cannot take it home with you and if you don’t own it you are not losing anything. This dunya, if you own you cannot take it home. Can you carry your home with you to akhira. Can you carry your bank accounts with you. Your bank account what do you see from them? A small plastic card. And do you see any more than that? And after a while they came and say your 401k is gone. I never heard of that before 4 months. I found out that is how the system works - that is your retirement fund and they force you to put it in the stock market. They force you. How do they say you have freedom of decision? They tell you “either take this package or that package.” So what do you want to do then? So you take this package and after a while it is gone. What is that justice? How many people lost? So you don’t take anything with you. Everything stays with them. So why to fight?

So that is why he said, La tukthir li hammik - don’t worry too much. La tukthir li hammik - don’t too much complicate your issue and your problem. Live the simple life. Village life is more important than city life. They say “the city is civilization.” City life is not civilization - it is deregulation and corruption. Village life is innocent. Go back to the village. It means go back to your nature. Go back to your Prophet. Go back to Allah. Don’t go back to those who give you a flashy life and say, "this is the life you need to live.” They give to you for one place and take from another place. Allah doesn’t do that He gives from both sides. Lean on what Allah wants - don’t lean on what they want to give you.

People come from the village, we cannot take it anymore. There is little sin there. People are soft and pure. Don’t mingle with those who are mafia.

I used to remember we used to go to Grandshaykh and Mawlana Shaykh and Shaykh Husayn. Go to make wudu. It is very cold at Fajr time. You see your hands after a while wounds from freezing water - these wounds are going to witness for you on Judgment Day that you had pain because of your wudu.

Today people don’t take wudu. You ask them why? They say there is no hot water. We need hot water. You be happy, in your country it is always warm you don need hot water.

First time I went to Indonesia and Malaysia, they take showers with cold water and they drink hot water. Food is sweet and dessert is salty. Food has to be made sweet and cakes and ice cream has to have salt in it. Water you drink has to be warm and water you shower with has to be cold. [Shaykh Mustafa: that is our custom] Don’t change the custom; live the way they like.

Don’t say, "We want to reform.” Can anyone reform Islam? Can anyone reform perfection? They are coming now with ideas, “reform”. Go and reform yourself. That is better.

Wa min Allah at-tawfeeq bi-hurmati 'l-Fatiha.

Taqabbal Allah.
